“DARWIN REVISITED”
Just give me a kitten
And I will be smitten
For weeks, maybe months,
And then "Rats!"
I'll feel I've been bitten
For somewhere  it's written
That kittens will one day be cats.
Now, you take a  puppy.
Please make it MY puppy,
A small manic nuisance, at best,
Whose  one saving feature
Is this noisy creature
Will someday stop being a  pest.
If science would focus
Its grand hocus-pocus
On helping us all  stay agog,
They'd give us a kitty,
So playful and pretty,
Then morphs
And turns into a dog!
